Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians to join our busy Emergency and Critical Care department at our Lee's Summit, MO location. This role offers a sign-on bonus up to 3,000, and a fast-paced environment where you can apply your anesthesia, radiography, CPR and patient monitoring skills.

You will work closely with talented veterinary professionals, mentor colleagues, and contribute to high-quality care while supporting client communications and continuous learning

Qualifications

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
