Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience preferred, time spent in a formal veterinary nursing/technician program will also be considered.
• Registered, Licensed or Certified Veterinary Technician/Assistant (RVT, LVT, CVT/CVA) preferred
• Emergency, ICU, GP experience preferred
• Experience in the listed skills: Venipuncture, Restraint, IV Catheter Placement, Assessing Vitals, Medical Record Notation, Intubation/Extubation, Monitoring Under Anesthesia, Minor Drug Calculations, Dentistry, Radiographs, post-surgical care, Fecal flotation and interpreting results

Responsibilities

• Provide veterinary nursing and hospitalized-patient care; anesthesia and analgesia; perioperative nursing; medication and fluid administration; venous access and specimen collection; laboratory diagnostics; diagnostic imaging; dentistry; emergency and critical care; transfusion medicine; client education; medical documentation; and other advanced nursing responsibilities appropriate to training and assigned practice.
• Observe, think, communicate, advocate, and participate in daily practice to provide high-quality care.
• Train and develop nursing staff through the development program built BY veterinary technicians FOR veterinary technicians.
• As an RVT, work alongside veterinarians and other teams in a supportive environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth.
