Yukon Veterinary Hospital in Yukon, OK is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. You will perform animal restraint, triage, lab work, diagnostic imaging, and nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases.

The role includes medication administration, client communication, surgical prep and anesthesia monitoring, with opportunities for ongoing training and professional growth in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Technician with an active license required.
• Punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts.
• Availability to work some Saturday shifts.
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations.
• Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques.
• Proficiency in sample collection methods (blood, urine, fecal, skin).
• Experience in radiographic positioning, dental radiography a plus.
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring.
• Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with animal-related hazards.

At Yukon Veterinary Hospital, we provide a wide range of services from vaccinationsand routine medical caretoadvanced diagnostics and surgery. We offer complete dental care, weight management consultations, soft tissue surgery, as well as diagnosis and treatment of internal medicine cases.

Our facility has state of the artmedical equipmentenabling us to providein house laboratory diagnostics, digital radiology, and ultrasonography.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

• Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
• Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
• Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture, with additional skills in dental radiography being a plus
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
• Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and unwavering commitment to animal welfare in a dynamic veterinary setting.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $20/hr+ depending on level of experience and license status
