Yukon Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support a wide range of services from vaccines to advanced diagnostics and surgery. You will work with licensed technicians and veterinarians to provide compassionate care and maintain hospital efficiency.

The job includes pet restraint, lab sample handling, imaging, and anesthesia monitoring as needed, with opportunities for hands-on training and career development in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of veterinary assistant experience required.
• Ability to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, anesthesia monitoring is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Restrain pets, triage incoming patients, collect and analyze lab samples, diagnostic imaging, manage nursing and medical care of hospitalized cases.
• Communicate treatment plans with clients and document care plans clearly.
• Assist in surgical preparation and anesthesia management.

At Yukon Veterinary Hospital, we provide a wide range of services from vaccinationsand routine medical caretoadvanced diagnostics and surgery. We offer complete dental care, weight management consultations, soft tissue surgery, as well as diagnosis and treatment of internal medicine cases.

Our facility has state of the artmedical equipmentenabling us to providein house laboratory diagnostics, digital radiology, and ultrasonography.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• An experienced Veterinary Assistantwith a minimum of 2 years experience required.
