Job summary

Maplecrest Animal Hospital in Goshen, IN is looking for a friendly veterinary nurse or veterinary technician to assist veterinarians in delivering medical care to companion animals.

We offer a four‑day work week with a half Saturday twice a month, a welcoming team, and mentoring for growth. Experience is preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply, and we value our Maplecrest Family.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as veterinary nurse/tech is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques.
• Familiarity with veterinary equipment and procedures.
• Strong communication with pet owners and staff.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
• Perform vaccinations, blood draws, and wound care.
• Monitor and record vital signs of animals.
• Prepare animals for surgery and assist during procedures.
• Take radiographs (digital body and dental units).
• Perform dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures.
• Educate pet owners on proper animal care and answer questions.

Company Description

Maplecrest Animal Hospital is located in Goshen, IN, a small college town about 2 hours away from Chicago, Michigan Beaches. Work week is 4 days a week with a Saturday (1/2 day) twice a month. We are a 2 doctor small animal hospital that focuses on general practice and surgery. Dr. Coon also has frequent pocket pet patients. We have digital (body and dental) radiography units, ultrasound, IDEXX in-house laboratory, and dental prophylaxis unit.
