Job description

First Capitol Animal Hospital is seeking an experiencedRegistered Veterinary Technicianto join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care. In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit. Responsibilities include:

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
• Assisting in surgery
• Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
• Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
• Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $22- $26 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday and 1-2 Saturdays per month

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
• Active and good-standingRegisteredVeterinary Technician in the state of Missouri **
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
  • Radiology positioning and safety protocols
  • Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
  • Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing

Pay Range

$22 - $26 USD

This is a good-faith estimate based on the role's requirements at the time of posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
