University Animal Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma, seeks an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to support outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years veterinary technician experience.
  • Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in Oklahoma.
  • Proficiency in anesthesia induction, monitoring and recovery, surgical assistance and aseptic technique.
  • Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography.
  • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement.
  • Radiology positioning and safety protocols.
  • Medication administration and accurate drug calculations.
  • Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing.
  • Accurate medical record documentation.
  • Client education and communication.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Effective teamwork and professional communication skills.
  • Recent graduates pending VTNE testing or licensed in transferable state allowed.

Job description

University Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary TechnicianRVT to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care.

In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities Include

This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy variety in their day, are confident moving between exam room and procedure support, and want to fully utilize their clinical knowledge, technical skillset, and client communication abilities in a collaborative general practice environment.

Schedule And Compensation
  • Compensation: $17 - $21 per hour, for each hour worked
  • This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Saturday. Saturdays are mornings only on rotation.

Minimum Qualifications And Skill Set
  • 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
  • Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Oklahoma**
