Lyndhurst Animal Clinic is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

As a Registered Veterinary Technician, you’ll play an important role in pets lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Checking in clients and helping conduct patient assessments (communication skills and enthusiastic personality are a MUST)
  • Monitoring pets
  • Drawing blood for lab work
  • Educating clients regarding veterinary care and procedures
  • Maintaining inventory
  • Preparing prescriptions based on label and dosage directions from the Veterinarian
  • Assisting with surgical procedures (previous surgery experience is a plus!)

Experience & Skills Requirements:

  • Has excellent communication and client-service/customer-service skills (we want to see your amazing personality!!)
  • Has the ability to thrive in a TEAM-oriented environment
  • Is detail-oriented
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous behavior toward clients and other team members
  • Prioritizes multiple tasks and changes focus in a fast-paced environment
  • Thinks creatively and responds quickly and calmly to emergencies
  • Is a self-starter and shows initiative to grow and learn
  • Is efficient for our veterinarians by relieving them of technical and administrative work.
  • Has a flexible schedule
  • Can be crossed trained to work as a receptionist when needed
  • Possesses a love of animals and the ability to warmly welcome and compassionately care for both clients and patients
  • Has 1-2 years prior veterinary technician experience at an animal clinic
  • Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at$20 -$24/hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location
