Job summary

East Side Animal Hospital in Evansville, IN is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join Thrive Pet Healthcare. This full-time role (30–40 hours/week) includes day and evening shifts to support pets across the Tristate area.

You will work closely with veterinarians to provide end-to-end care, maintain medical records, and communicate treatment plans and costs to clients. Growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

  • RV T certification or eligibility required or preferred.
  • 1–2 years of veterinary clinic experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Team-oriented and able to work collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, able to multitask.
  • Calm and effective in emergency situations.
  • Willing to cross-train to front desk duties.

Responsibilities

Monday through Friday 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM

East Side Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

As a Veterinary Technician/Assistant, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Our Veterinary Technicians/Assistants are the heartbeat of our team and work side by side with our Veterinarians (DVMs) during procedures. A full-time position would require working between 30-40 hours a week, which includes a combination of day & evening shifts.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Assisting DVMs during procedures by restraining animals, conducting tests, monitoring vitals, and administering medications.
  • Maintaining medical records and communicating with clients on their pets' medical procedures, including treatment plans and costs
  • Maintaining examination, treatment, and surgical suite, including maintenance of equipment such as anesthetic machines/ monitors, x-ray machines, dental, and autoclaving equipment.
  • Must be comfortable and confident handling dogs and cats of all sizes
Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or RVT-eligible preferred; experienced Veterinary Assistants encouraged to apply
  • 1-2 years of veterinary clinic experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with a positive, friendly attitude
  • Team-oriented and able to work collaboratively
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Professional and courteous with clients and team members
  • Able to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
