Job summary

Northarlington Animal Clinic in Columbus, OH seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our full-service hospital. You will perform triage, diagnostics, anesthesia, and nursing care across a busy practice, while communicating treatment plans to clients and maintaining medical records.

The ideal candidate brings a valid RVT license, strong interaction with clients, and a commitment to ongoing learning in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Licensed RVT with active license required.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work scheduled shifts.
  • Occasional Saturday availability is expected.
  • Strong client communication and medical record skills.
  • Solid knowledge of veterinary procedures and hospital operations.
  • Experience with safe, low-stress restraint techniques.
  • Proficiency in blood, urine, fecal, and skin sample collection.
  • Experience with radiography and image capture; dental radiography a plus.
  • Experience with anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring.
  • Commitment to ethics and ongoing learning.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced veterinary setting.

Responsibilities

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications
  • A RegisteredVeterinary Technician with an active license required, 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required.
  • Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts.
  • Availability to work some Saturday shifts.
  • Excellent client communication and medical record management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations.
  • Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques.
  • Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens.
  • Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture, with additional skills in dental radiography being a plus.
  • Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring.
  • Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards.
