Job summary

Mile High Animal Hospital in Aurora, CO is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our full-time team. We’re AAHA-accredited and emphasize high-quality, low-stress patient care for dogs and cats.

You’ll assist veterinarians, support surgeries, educate clients, and maintain meticulous medical records while growing your technical skills in a collaborative hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Active veterinary license in good standing.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical veterinary technician or assistant experience.
• Commitment to empathetic, gold-standard veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Assist with surgeries in line with Colorado/Veterinary Practice Act.

We provide primary care services for dogs and cats across Aurora, Centennial, Denver, and Parker and are proud to be AAHA-accredited, Feline-Friendly, and Low-Stress Handling certified.

What You’ll Do

As a Registered Veterinary Technician, you’ll play a vital role in delivering gold-standard patient care by:

• Supporting veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
• Assisting with surgeries in accordance with Colorado’s Veterinary Practice Act
• Advocating for patients while supporting efficient hospital flow
• Communicating with clients about individualized pet health concerns, medications, and treatment plans
• Maintaining accurate, comprehensive medical records
• Obtaining relevant patient histories and updating medical charts
• Using safe restraint techniques and following low-stress handling protocols
• Maintaining clean, organized, and sanitary exam rooms, treatment areas, and labs
• Mentoring and supporting fellow team members

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience & Credentials

• Active LVT, RVT, or CVT license (current and in good standing)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical veterinary technician or assistant experience with direct patient care
• Commitment to empathetic, gold-standard veterinary medicine
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
