Job summary

Annapolis Cat Practice/ Bay Ridge Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to our patients and exceptional service to our clients.

Our ideal candidate has RVT certification in Maryland and experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures; we value a compassionate team member who improves pets' lives and supports veterinarians during exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Maryland RVT certification.
• Experience in animal care and client communication preferred.
• Familiarity with common veterinary procedures and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates.
• Perform lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Job description

Salary: $22-$27 per hour, based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: This is a full-time position with three to four 10-hour shifts per weekday and rotating Saturday mornings. Two early shifts (8:00 AM–6:00 PM) and two late shifts (10:00 AM–8:00 PM). Occasional shifts from 8 am to 8 pm.

KeyResponsibilities:

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification in Maryland.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
