Job summary

Integra Vascular in New York seeks a skilled ultrasound technologist to prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment, perform venous and vascular sonography per policy, and review clinical information.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography exams in accordance with Integra Vascular's policies and procedures.
  • Practices proper patient identification before proceeding with an exam.
  • Review all supporting clinical information.
  • Evaluate any contraindications, insufficient patient prep, and patient’s inability or unwillingness to tolerate the examination.
  • Use proper patient positioning and equipment adjustments to ensure patient and sonographer comfort and safety.
  • Knowledge of infectious diseases and the utilization of Universal Precautions.
  • Perform diagnostic medical sonography examinations placed by the ordering physician in accordance with Integra Vascular's ultrasound protocols.
  • Acquires additional images when needed for optimal diagnostic results.
  • Identifies and documents any limitations of the exam and prepares comments/findings at the end of the exam.
  • Documents any incidental findings that might impact patient safety or care.
  • Maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues or call for assistance.
  • Properly cares for Ultrasound equipment and notifies the office if there are any issues.
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with co-workers and members of the health care team.
  • Maintains education and training in Sonography.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor or direct management
