Job summary

Luminis Health seeks an Ultrasound Technician to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with established regulations and policies. The role includes preparing patients, calibrating equipment, and participating with the medical team in biopsies and related imaging tasks.

Requirements include a one-year Ultrasound Technology program, CPR, and RDMS certification in abdomen-pelvis and OB-GYN, with ARRT Maryland license preferred.

Qualifications

• One-year program in Ultrasound Technology.
• CPR certification required.
• RDMS certification in Abdomen-Pelvis and OB-GYN required.
• ARRT Maryland license preferred.
• Additional registry in OB/GYN, neonatal hands, or vascular recommended.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound procedures for diagnostic evaluation of patients.
• Performs routine radiographic and ultrasound procedures with safety and quality standards.
• Contributes to biopsies of various organs and prepares patients for procedures as requested.
• Reports equipment, staffing, and productivity issues and makes recommendations.
• Obtains clinical data prior to ultrasound and supervises patient scheduling/preparation.

Job description

Position Objective: Performs ultrasound procedures for diagnostic evaluation of patients in accordance with established regulations, policies and procedures.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Performs ultrasound procedures for diagnostic evaluation of patients in accordance with established regulations, policies and procedures.
2. Performs routine radiographic and ultrasound procedures in accordance with established safety and quality standards and the special needs ofpatients.
3. Performs ultrasound diagnostic procedures and routine ultrasound procedures within the designated time frame and in accordance with theestablished quality standards and needs of the office as well as the organization.
4. Participates as a member of a specialized medical team in performing biopsies of various organs and in preparing patients for specificprocedures as requested by the physician.
5. Confers with the practice manager and physician to report problems relative to equipment, staffing, and productivity and makesrecommendations on personnel matters within assigned area.
6. Obtains pertinent clinical data prior to sonographic examination, supervises the scheduling and preparation of patients, and records significantdata.
7. Conducts daily calibration checks in the adjustment and maintenance of ultrasound and peripheral equipment and records results.
8. Maintains daily activities log and procedure manual; compiles data and issues monthly reports as required.
9. Ensures compliance with organizational and office specific safety policies and procedures; maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards in thework area.
10. Demonstrates proper use of computer by entering all pertinent information upon completion of procedure and adhering to confidentiality policy.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

• Successful completion of a one-year program in Ultrasound Technology.

Required License/Certifications:

• CPR certification is required.
• Certification in Physics,Abdomen-Pelvis, OB-GYN by the Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) required.
• Recommend additional registry in one of thefollowing: OB/GYN, neonatal hands, or vascular.
• ARRT Maryland license preferred.
