Job summary

Luminis Health in Lanham, MD is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform routine radiographic procedures and specialized CT scanning in accordance with established quality standards and patient needs. You will collaborate with supervisors, assist with equipment checks, ensure patient preparation, and maintain records while delivering compassionate care in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must complete a two-year radiologic technology program, hold ARRT/ARDMS registries, and Maryland

Qualifications

  • Two-year AMA-approved radiologic technology program.
  • Minimum one year as radiologic technologist and CT experience or CT cross-training.
  • Current Maryland license; ARRT/ARDMS registry.

Responsibilities

  • Confers with supervisor to report equipment, staffing, and productivity issues.
  • Performs daily CT quality assurance and maintains records per department procedures.
  • Obtains clinical data, prepares patients, and records significant data.
  • Ensures efficient patient flow and scheduling in the CT area.
  • Manages supplies and reports shortages; maintains logs and monthly reports.
  • Participates in orientation and training; demonstrates CT equipment and procedures.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service per ICARE framework.
  • Assists physicians in emergencies and contrast reactions.

Position Objective

Performs routine radiographic procedures and special computerized tomography procedures consistent with established quality standards and the need of the patient.

Essential Job Duties

  • Obtains pertinent clinical data prior to diagnostic examination, supervises the preparation of patients, and records significant data.
  • Ensures efficient patient flow through scanner area through effective scheduling and assignment of responsibility.
  • Ensure appropriate storage and routing of supplies in the CT area; monitors supplies and report shortages as requires.
  • Maintains daily activities log and procedures manual, complies data and issues monthly report as required.
  • Participates in orientation, on-the-job training, and in-service activities as requested; demonstrates CT equipment and procedures as requested.
  • Consistently demonstrates exceptional customer service as instructed in the ICARE service excellence framework.
  • Assists physician in emergency situations and adverse contrast reactions.
  • When the opportunity arises, has the ability to participate in orientation of new personnel and development on in-services and cross training programs consistent with performance objectives and training needs of employees.

Educational/Experience Requirements
  • Successful completion of a two-year radiological technology program in AMA approved educational institution.
  • A minimum of one year as a radiologic technologist and either one year CT experience or the successful completion of in-house CT cross-training program required.
RequiredLicense/Certifications
  • Successful completion of a 2 year accredited program
  • Current Registry in specific Imaging Modality (ARRT or ARDMS)
  • Licensed in the State of Maryland
  • Maintains current license, CMEs and participates in various applicable educational activities as per regulatory/requirements.
