Job Summary


The Registered Polysomnographic Technologist we be responsible for conducting and monitoring sleep studies, set up of equipment and patients, training Polysomnographic Technologists, troubleshooting artifacts and scoring tests. They must be able to work independently.

The sleep technologist may work at either Mission Bay or Mount Zion.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $47.53 - $59.21 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications


  • Current Sleep Technologist license from California Medical Board
  • At least 1 year experience working nights in a sleep lab
  • Highschool Diploma


Preferred Qualifications


  • Demonstrated ability to provide appropriate care based on the needs of a specific individual, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.


License/Certification


  • Current CPR BLS.
  • One of the following licenses:
    • Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)
    • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
    • Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT)
    • Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT)
    • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Current Sleep Technologist license from California Medical Board
