Position Summary
Under the direction of a Radiologist and following established policies and procedures, performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations with independent judgement, initiative, and ingenuity. Such imaging is performed on internal organs, tissues, and/or blood vessels in order to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of illness and injuries.
Accountabilities
Physical Demands: Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and stooping. Must be able to carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to assist patients on and off examining tables. Must be able to apply ultrasound transducers at angles and pressure appropriate to produce optimal images of patient anatomy.
Must be able to differentiate colors and subtle sounds. Must be able to tolerate wearing heavy lead aprons/vest for extended periods of time.
