Job summary

Adena Health System seeks a Registered Sonographer to operate advanced imaging equipment and produce high-quality sonograms. You will work closely with Radiologists, managers and department staff to implement protocols and provide direct patient care.

Minimum qualifications include completion of an accredited sonography program, RDMS within 18 months, and 1–2 years of experience. You will be part of a supportive team using cutting-edge imaging technology in Ohio.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• RDMS credential within 18 months of hire; BLS and NT OB/GYN certs as noted.
• 1–2 years of Diagnostic Medical Sonography experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound studies and interpret results across specialties.
• Provide direct patient care and collaborate with Radiology staff and physicians.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow established protocols.
• Utilize PACS/EMR for accurate documentation and reporting.

Job description

Position Summary:
As a Registered Sonographer at Adena Health, you will operate advanced imaging equipment to produce high-quality sonograms, working closely with Radiologists, managers, and department staff to implement and evaluate protocols. You will provide direct patient care, handle confidential information responsibly, and make independent decisions in collaboration with your team—all under the guidance of the Radiology Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an Accredited Program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

• Certification/Licenses: RDMS (must achieve credential for physics and one correlating specialty per ACR standards within 18 months of hire), BLS, De-escalation training within 6 months, NT certification within 12 months (OB/GYN only)

• Experience: 1–2 years preferred in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proficiency in performing and interpreting ultrasound studies in one or more specialties

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with patients and the healthcare team

• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Familiarity with PACS and EMR systems
