Qualifications

• AS in Respiratory Care at minimum; RRT credential required; WV state licensure active

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care services across hospital departments, adapting to duty assignments.
• Supervise other respiratory care practitioners and provide orientation and in-service education as needed.
• Operate independently within approved medical policies and procedures.
• Analyze lung capacity and blood samples using advanced equipment.
• Implement and evaluate patient care plans, adjusting as needed based on patient response.
• Document and communicate patient conditions effectively.
• Respond to emergency codes and provide appropriate respiratory treatment.
• Educate patients and families about illnesses and community resources.
• Manage respiratory care supplies and equipment, ensuring maintenance and calibration.

Education

AS/RS in Respiratory Care (or higher)

RRT certification (NBRC)
