Job summary

Tenet Healthcare in Florida seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to treat cardiopulmonary disorders for inpatients and outpatients of all ages. You will use oxygen, therapeutic gases, aerosol therapy, and ventilator support while coordinating with the Respiratory Care team.

Licensure as an RRT with Florida license, BLS/ACLS/PALS current, and NRP for NICU staff are required. Graduate from AMA-approved program with an associate degree is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Must be licensed by the State of Florida and have current BLS, ACLS & PALS.
• NICU therapists must have NRP certification.

Responsibilities

• Treats cardiopulmonary disorders for inpatients and outpatients of all ages.
• Uses Oxygen, therapeutic gases, aerosols, and related respiratory care equipment.
• Maintains professional rapport with colleagues and reports to Respiratory Care Director.

Up to $15,000 SOB for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months.

The Registered Respiratory Therapist uses sound knowledge and proficiency in the treatment of cardiopulmonary disorders for inpatients and outpatients of all ages with various types of media, i.e., Oxygen and other Therapeutic Gases and Aerosol Inhalation, Holter set-up, Pulmonary Function Test, all related Respiratory Care Equipment, Mechanical Ventilation, Blood Gas Sampling/Analysis and all other aspects of respiratory therapeutic treatments. Establishes a good rapport with fellow associates while maintaining a professional relationship. Reports to the Respiratory Care Director and/or Respiratory Care Supervisor.

Required Licensure/Certifications

• Minimum: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• If employee was credentialed by the NBRC on or after July 1, 2002, they must participate in the Credential Maintenance Program to maintain your NBRC credentials.
• Credentials awarded prior to July 1, 2002 are not subject to the Credential Maintenance Program.

Education

• Minimum: Graduate of a two (2) year AMA approved Respiratory Care Program
• Required: Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy

Other Qualifications

• Must be licensed by the State of Florida Department of Professional Regulations and have current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS & PALS
• Therapists working in NICU, must have a current NRP certification
• Recommend membership to the Florida Society of Respiratory Care and/or American Association for Respiratory Care

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two (1) year post-graduate clinical experience in Respiratory Care procedures
