Job Description: Registered Respiratory Therapist

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for providing standard and advanced respiratory care procedures for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, performing examinations and procedures as directed, and modeling behavior aligned with MLH Mission, Vision, and Values.

What You Will Do
  • Perform routine respiratory therapy procedures including IPPB, O2 therapy, and humidity/aerosol therapy.
  • Establish and maintain ventilation and airway care, provide ventilatory support, and perform advanced techniques like invasive pressure monitoring, arterial blood gas collection, and assisting in catheter insertions.
  • Assess and reassess patients, gather clinical data, respond to therapy outcomes, and refer to appropriate disciplines.
  • Provide education and serve as a technical resource to patients, families, physicians, students, and staff.
  • Ensure safety, perform maintenance on equipment, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications

Education: Technical Degree or Diploma in Respiratory Care, or Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care.

Experience: No prior work experience required.

Licenses and Certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT (National, Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee).

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to understand and prepare patient records and clinical data.
  • Effective verbal communication with team members and professionals.
  • Ability to work independently, organize tasks, and manage workflow.
Physical Demands
  • Patient contact, exposure to body fluids, emergency response, and physical activities including lifting and movement.
