Job summary

Nacogdoches Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care for patients across all hospital areas, including airway management, ventilator setup and maintenance, and arterial punctures. You will document care per policies and communicate changes to physicians and staff.

The position requires graduation from an accredited respiratory care program, NBRC registry and CPR certification, and Texas licensure, with certifications due within 3 months of employment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Graduate of accredited school of respiratory care.
• Minimum Experience: Complete clinical rotation.
• Required Certification: NBRC Registry, CPR.
• Required Licensure: Texas Department of Health.
• Skills: Routine therapy, ER-ICU critical care, airway management, ventilator care, ABG’s (for all age groups).
• Note – Required certifications are to be completed by 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• The RRT provides respiratory care for all patients in all areas of NMC.
• Responsible for airway management procedures, arterial punctures, EKG procedures.
• Responsible for complete documentation according to hospital and department policies.
• Reports changes in patient status and test results to physician or appropriate hospital personnel.

The RRT is to provide respiratory care for all patients in all areas of NMC. Responsible for airway management procedures (including but not limited to oxygen therapy, ventilator set up and maintenance, emergency procedures, respiratory therapy treatment modalities), arterial punctures, and EKG procedures to patients in assigned areas. Responsible for complete documentation according to the hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Reports change in status of patient and/or patient diagnostic procedure results to physician and/or appropriate hospital personnel.
