Job summary

Connections Healthcare Staffing is assisting a 100+ bed healthcare facility located about 45 minutes from Hendersonville, NC. The facility seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift (7p-7a) with every other weekend rotation. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is offered.

Responsibilities include delivering respiratory therapies, monitoring patient responses, responding to codes, and educating patients and families. Requires NC RRT license and BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in respiratory therapy is required.
• Current North Carolina RRT license is required.
• BCLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples; performs EKGs and tobacco-cessation education as ordered.
• Delivers respiratory therapies; monitors patient response to treatment.
• Responds to codes and emergent calls; assesses patient condition and interventions.
• Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes and best practices.
• Educates patients and families on illness, treatments, device use, and resources.
• Monitors, stocks, and distributes respiratory supplies and gas cylinders; maintains equipment readiness.
• Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes, and calibrates respiratory equipment.
• Performs all responsibilities to fulfill required service levels.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education.

Our client, a 100+ bed healthcare facility located about 45 mins from Hendersonville, NC in the Southwestern part of NC near the Blue Ridge foothills, has a need for a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join their team. This is a Night shift position working 7p-7a, with every other weekend rotation.

• Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer;, EKGs, and tobacco-cessation education as ordered.
• Delivers ordered respiratory therapies; monitors, records, and communicates patient condition and response to treatment.
• Responds to codes and emergent calls; assesses patient condition and provides appropriate interventions.
• Evaluates and contributes to respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices.
• Educates patients and families on illness, treatments, device use, and community resources.
• Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory supplies and medical gas cylinders; maintains storage areas and equipment readiness.
• Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes, performs preventive maintenance, and calibrates respiratory equipment.
• Performs all responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate's degree in respiratory therapy required.

License: Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in state of North Carolina.

Certifications: BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP required.
