Job Duties: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)

The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) will work in various departments, including Inpatient and Emergency Room (ER), Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Diagnostics, as well as Electroencephalography (EEG) and Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) Studies.

Under medical direction or clinical protocols, the RCP provides care for patients with cardiopulmonary, neurological, or other organ system dysfunctions. Responsibilities include assessing patients, collecting relevant data, performing diagnostic tests, applying therapeutic interventions, and recommending treatments to the healthcare team.

The position also emphasizes continuous improvement of work procedures to save time and reduce costs.

The RCP plays a vital role in helping patients achieve their maximum level of function and maintain a high quality of life.

Casual (12 hours per week)

Day Shift

Every third weekend

Education: Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care Practitioner program.associate's degree required; BS/BA degree is desirable.

License/Certification:

  • Current active license from the State of Maryland Physician Board Quality Assurance (MPBQA). Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Current CPR CERTIFICATION.
  • Definitions of the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) are as follows: RR-Registered Respiratory Therapist (Advanced Practitioner) required effective 3/1/2020
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within six months of hire. Pediatric advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred

Experience: New grads are encouraged to apply.

Salary Range: Minimum $ 44.00/hour - Maximum $ 44.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
