St. David's HealthCare in Austin, Texas is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our patient-focused team. You will perform critical diagnostic procedures for cardiopulmonary diseases and maintain respiratory care equipment.

• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) provider certification.
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required for NICU RRT Staff.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required for ICU RRT staff.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment.
• Perform technical procedures related to cardiopulmonary hemodynamics.
• Demonstrate competency in proper airway care.
• Accurately assess patients and interpret results.
• Perform routine patient assessments and recognize respiratory dysfunction.
• Act as a respiratory care protocol assessor.

Job Summary

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) you will perform the critical care and diagnostic procedures used in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary diseases on patients of all ages. As a member of the patient-focused care team you will perform basic respiratory equipment maintenance, quality control measures and other administrative or technical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment
• Perform a range of technical procedures related to cardiopulmonary hemodynamics
• Demonstrate competency in proper airway care
• Accurately assess patients, interpret results, and suggest alternative respiratory treatments
• Perform routine patient assessment and recognize and interpret respiratory dysfunction
• Act as a respiratory care protocol assessor by delivering therapy and reassessing patients in a timely manner, maintaining proper documentation
• Communicate regularl
  ly with physicians and nurses about patient care plans and updates

Experience & Qualifications

• Preferred: Acute Care Hospital experience

Education

• Graduate of an American Medical Association accredited Respiratory Therapy program
