Job description

Department: Respiratory Therapy

$7500 Sign on Bonus, based on eligibility

Full-time - 36 hours per week, 7PM-7:30AM, WEEKENDS ONLY. We can alternate Fri, Sat & Sun and Sat, Sun & Mon schedules if that works for the applicant.

Location: Henry Ford Providence - Southfield, MI

GENERAL SUMMARY

• Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
• Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
• Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
• Evaluate respiratory practices, medication administration, and treatment outcomes.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and available community support programs.
• Respond to emergency resuscitation team codes.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable job-specific experience.
• 3-5 years of ICU experience preferred.
• NICU experience is a plus.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES REQUIRED

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire or transfer; American Heart Association accepted.
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist credential from the Michigan Board of Respiratory Care prior to hire or transfer.
• Advanced Life Support (preferred).
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics (preferred).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred).
