St. Davids North Austin Medical Center is seeking a part-time Registered Respiratory Therapist focused on pediatric care. You will provide respiratory support to patients of all ages under supervision, following established guidelines and contributing to exceptional patient satisfaction.

Qualifications include NBRC-RRT, RRT/State license and an Associate Degree. Required trainings (ACLS, BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation, PALS) must be completed within the stated timeframes.

Qualifications

• ACLS to be obtained within 90 days of start date
• BLS within 30 days of start date
• Neonatal Resuscitation within 90 days of start date
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days of start date

Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Care Supervisor, provides respiratory care services to patients of all ages in accordance with accepted respiratory care practices and established departmental and hospital guidelines. Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prioritizes work appropriately and completes assignments in a timely fashion.
• Completes all required documentation with special attention to detail and accuracy.
• Demonstrates competency in proper airway care including, as applicable: airway suctioning, oral and nasal airway care, cuff pressure monitoring, and extubation.
• Demonstrates competency in the performance of routine patient assessment and in the ability to correctly recognize and interpret respiratory dysfunction.
• Performs quality control procedures, as required.
• Employee’s conduct must reflect the Company’s values and a commitment to the Code of Conduct ethics and compliance program.
• Competency in new procedures is gained in a timely fashion as they are incorporated into the department’s practices.
• Other duties as assigned, including periodic assignment as a shift’s Lead Therapist.
• Employee’s conduct must reflect the Company’s values and a commitment to the Code of Conduct ethics and compliance program.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

The center includes a95+ bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)with 30+ private rooms, 10+ rooms for very small babies, and 10+ beds for babies needing neurological care. It also has35+ labor, delivery, and recovery rooms, including Central Texas’ firstlow-intervention birthing suiteswith tubs. St. Davids Surgical Hospital is part of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center and is the firstLevel 4 Epilepsy Centerin Central Texas for both adults and children. It has its own 24-hour emergency department, a medical-surgical inpatient unit, and a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU)for patients ages 17 and under. The hospital is staffed with pediatric emergency physicians, pediatric hospitalists, intensivists, and other specialists who are specially trained to care for children. It also includes certified child-life specialistswho help kids feel more comfortable during their hospital stay.
