Fairview Hospital / Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Respiratory Therapist II to provide advanced respiratory care in critical settings. You will independently manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, and educate patients and staff to ensure high-quality, safe care.

Responsibilities include antibiotic and gas therapy delivery, ABG sampling, and collaboration on care plans with a focus on safety, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred).
• Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT or RCP required.
• 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills; proficient in computer use and databases.

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment in critical care settings. They independently manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, and interpret graphic waveforms, ensuring high-quality, safe patient care. They also educate patients, families, and new staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy, including aerosolized medications, bronchial hygiene, oxygen, and medical gas therapy.
• Manage ventilator settings, weaning, and airway interventions such as intubation and tracheostomy care.
• Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Provide education and mentorship to students, new employees, and peers.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, electronic documentation, and quality improvement initiatives.
