AdventHealth in Altamonte Springs, FL is seeking a part-time Respiratory Therapist for weekend night shifts. The role supports patient care across age groups and requires adherence to safety and clinical protocols.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality respiratory care and manage ventilated patients. Applicants should have an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science, and hold current BLS plus RRT credentials.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science is required.
• 1+ years of critical care experience preferred.
• BLS required; State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or NBRC RRT required.

Responsibilities

• Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to aid patient flow.
• Responds to Code Blue emergencies with CPR per AHA guidelines.
• Performs respiratory therapies and ventilator management per protocol.
• Obtains and analyzes arterial blood gases and co-oximetry results.
• Maintains airway management including suctioning and airway devices.
• Initiates and monitors mechanical ventilators and adjustments per policy.

Job Description: SHIFT - PART TIME WEEKEND NIGHTS Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely. Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork in assisting with patient flow. Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies. Interprets evaluations and test results to determine appropriate treatment plans in consultation with interdisciplinary healthcare team. Responds to all Code Blue emergencies immediately providing CPR according to the American Heart Association and performs other duties as directed. Performs respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies and makes recommendations to the most efficient delivery method per protocol. Obtains, analyzes and reports findings of arterial blood gases and co-oximetry; performs quality controls as needed. Performs airway maintenance including: proper use of manual resuscitators, oral and nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, and airway suctioning. Initiates, maintains, transports, and monitors mechanical ventilators to include basic conventional modes of ventilation per policy and procedure. Utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and confers with multidisciplinary team to determine efficacy of therapy in a cost and time efficient manner making appropriate recommendations and changes per department protocol. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Patient care skills to care for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations per hospital needs. [Required]

• 1+ critical care experience [Preferred]
