Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform all aspects and modalities of respiratory care for Health System patients per department guidelines, including emergencies and resuscitation when needed.

The role requires an Associate’s degree from a COARC approved program, RRT, NCRCB licensure, BCLS, and at least 1 year of clinical experience; the incumbent may act as charge therapist in the absence of a supervisor and will maintain thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from a COARC approved Respiratory Care Program is required.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT) required.
• Licensed by the NCRCB required.
• BCLS certified by the American Heart Association required.
• 1 year of clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer continuous oxygen and continuous bland aerosol therapy per department guidelines.
• Perform intermittent therapy and diagnostic procedures per department guidelines.
• Initiate and maintain mechanical ventilation and complete documentation.
• Provide airway management, ventilation and CPR during emergencies as needed.
• Initiate and maintain monitoring equipment responsibilities for Respiratory Care.
• Act as charge therapist in the absence of a supervisor.
