Job summary

AdventHealth Orlando is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide care across neonatal to geriatric patients, supporting critical care and patient flow in a busy hospital setting. The night shift offers self scheduling with weekend rotation, opportunities to work across multiple Central Florida locations, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team using modern respiratory services.

Requirements include an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science, BLS

Qualifications

• BLS CPR certification required.
• State or NBRC RRT credential required.
• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science required.

Responsibilities

• Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to manage patient flow.
• Interprets evaluations and test results to guide treatment plans.
• Responds to Code Blue emergencies and provides CPR per AHA guidelines.
• Maintains and operates ventilators and airway devices.
• Participates in ensuring safety and following hospital protocols.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

$15,000.00 sign-on (1-year commitment) - To eligible candidates

$3,000.00 Relocation - To eligible candidates

SHIFT: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM SELF SCHEDULE AND EVERY OTHER WEEKEND

VARIOUS LOCATIONSIN CENTRAL FLORIDA

• Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely.
• Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork in assisting with patient flow. Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies.
• Interprets evaluations and test results to determine appropriate treatment plans in consultation with interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Responds to all Code Blue emergencies immediately providing CPR according to the American Heart Association and performs other duties as directed. Performs respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies and makes recommendations to the most efficient delivery method per protocol.
• Obtains, analyzes and reports findings of arterial blood gases and co-oximetry; performs quality controls as needed.
• Performs airway maintenance including: proper use of manual resuscitators, oral and nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, and airway suctioning. Initiates, maintains, transports, and monitors mechanical ventilators to include basic conventional modes of ventilation per policy and procedure.
• Utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and confers with multidisciplinary team to determine efficacy of therapy in a cost and time efficient manner making appropriate recommendations and changes per department protocol.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Patient care skills to care for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations per hospital needs. [Required]

• in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science

Work Experience:

• 1+ critical care experience [Preferred]
