Job summary

Hutchinson Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory therapy, testing and education under physician direction. The role emphasizes high-quality patient care, safety and strong communication with patients and staff.

Registered Respiratory Therapist - Full Time

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs diagnostic evaluation, therapy and education according to established protocols or physician instruction.
• Demonstrates competency in ensuring patient safety at all times.
• Effectively communicates with patients, family members, hospital staff and physicians.
• Provides appropriate patient care and anticipates patient/family needs and comfort.
• Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Graduate of an accredited program of Respiratory Therapy .

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1-3 years of experience in a critical care ICU setting.

REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION

• Healthcare Provider BLS-if BLS is not AHA, AHA BLS is required within 3 months of hire.
• Healthcare Provider ACLS and PALS are required within 6 months of hire. (PALS not required for employees in the Cardiac Rehab department)
