Job description
Department: Respiratory Therapy
Contingent (not scheduled to work a specified number of hours per pay); 7PM-7:30 AM, 24 hours per 6 week scheduling period, Holidays, hard-to-fills and weekends as needed.

GENERAL SUMMARY
Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. -
Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis. -
Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
Perform advanced respiratory care modalities. -
Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome. -
Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. -
3-5 years of ICU experience preferred
NICU experience a plus
CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association accepted.
Licensed Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Michigan Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association accepted.
Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association accepted.
