A provisional licensed Respiratory graduate must work under the supervision of a fully licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP). A CRT credentialed licensed Respiratory graduate per the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) does not require the same level of immediate supervision and is considered fully licensed. Both the provisional licensed graduate and the CRT licensed graduate can perform the full scope of practice as outlined by the NCRCB. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care or arrange for the provision of care for neonatal to geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements
Work requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. May be exposed to hazardous work environments, including contagious patients and biohazardous materials. Rapid coordination of eyes and hands to fingers. Sufficient noise and disruptions to cause distractions and stress. Hazardous working conditions where individual is exposed to risk of bodily injury through contact with moving instrumentation, chemicals, or body fluids.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
New graduates who have successfully completed an accredited Respiratory Care educational program approved by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) are required. Provisional license or CRT credential license issued by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) is required. Note: NCRCB provisional license cannot extend past one year. RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required within 1 year of hire. Must have completed competency evaluations for each of the duties of the job. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS HCP) from AHA is required. Additional certifications may be required per facility/policy standards.
