Job summary

Roane Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide care to patients with respiratory insufficiency. This is a full-time, day-shift role, 80 hours per pay period, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus for experienced candidates.

You will work as part of the direct patient care team, demonstrating competency in ventilation support, ABG analysis, and routine respiratory procedures while adhering to department policies and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Valid RRT credential by the NBRC and license as an RRT.
• State license required; ABG endorsement may be needed.
• New Registry Eligible graduates may be hired as an RRT with 1 year to pass NBRC exam.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates respiratory care competency of clinical skills on an ongoing basis.
• Provide care to patients with respiratory insufficiency as part of the direct patient team.
• Perform arterial blood gases and related analyses per policy; ensure quality control.
• Operate ventilation modalities (including CPAP/BiPAP) and related equipment safely.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff and physicians; participate in quality improvements.
