Medical Solutions Direct Hire in East Peoria, Illinois is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a permanent, full-time position. The role supports adult and critical care across ICU, ED, and general floors, with a focus on evidence-based respiratory care.

The position offers a 36-hour workweek, 12-hour shifts (days, evenings, nights) and requires NBRC credentials (RRT), IL licensure readiness, and AHA BLS certification. New grads welcome; drug-free campus applies.

• Successful completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current NBRC credentials (RRT required; new grads must pass TMC + CSE and have applied for IL licensure before starting).
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Basic EMR documentation skills.
• New grads considered; 1+ year of experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Perform respiratory care within the Illinois Respiratory Therapy Practice Act.
• Deliver treatments and therapies as ordered, including aerosolized medications, medical gas administration, airway clearance, and oxygen delivery.
• Initiate, monitor, and manage mechanical ventilation (including advanced modes such as high‑frequency ventilation, inverse I:E, and specialty gases like Nitric Oxide, Heliox, and Nitrogen).
• Serve as the primary airway manager during Blue Alerts and respond to Rapid Response/emergent calls.
• Assess patients and recommend changes in therapy based on clinical response.
• Document all care per regulatory and TJC/Medicare standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, especially in ICU and intermediate care settings.
• Monitor equipment and supply levels for patient care areas.

About the Role

Seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join a collaborative acute-care team. This permanent position provides hands‑on care across all patient populations with an emphasis on adult and critical care. The RT will perform respiratory procedures in accordance with evidence-based standards while supporting patients on general floors, intermediate care, ICU, and the ED.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, push/pull equipment up to 35 lbs initial force.
• Ability to stand up to 4 hours at a time, bend/stoop, and assist with patient positioning.
• Manual dexterity and the ability to communicate clearly.
• Visual capability including color vision.
• Ability to review and verify documentation accurately.
