Job summary

Memorial Health Meadows Hospital is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Vidalia, GA. The role involves assessing patients, delivering respiratory therapies, and managing ventilated patients with emphasis on airway management and patient safety.

We value credentialed NBRC members with RRT licensure; acute care experience is preferred. Eligible applicants will have a degree in Respiratory Therapy and BCLS/ACLS within required timeframes.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
• Current CRT or RRT licensure; if CRT, must earn RRT within 12 months.
• 1+ year of experience in respiratory care preferred.
• BCLS required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• Credentialed and active NBRC member required.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
• Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery and aerosol medication delivery.
• Assist with placement of artificial airways and manage mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor therapeutic response and notify provider of any issues.
• Assist with transport of ventilator-dependent patients.
• Respond to emergent situations and maintain airway integrity during resuscitation.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• You will perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure. You will conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
• You will administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
• You will assist with placement of artificial airways. You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
• You will monitor patient for therapeutic response. You will notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
• You will assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
• You will respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.

What qualifications you will need:

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy required
• Current licensure in CRT or RRT (if CRT – must earn RRT within 12 months) required
• 1+ year of experience in respiratory care preferred
• BCLS required within 30 days of hire required
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire required
• Credentialed and active member of NBRC required
