Job summary

St. Luke's Health - Patients Medical Center in Pasadena, TX is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to administer therapies including HHN, MDI, IPV, CPT and oxygen therapy, plus ventilation support and patient transport.

You will perform monitoring and diagnostic testing (ABG puncture, PFTs, capnography) and assist with procedures such as CPR, airway care and sleep apnea assessment, pending licensure requirements.

Qualifications

• Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license is required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential is preferred.
• BLS certification within 14 days; ACLS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Administer therapies including HHN, MDI, IPV and CPT and oxygen therapy.
• Perform non-invasive and invasive ventilation support and transport ventilated patients.
• Conduct physiological monitoring and diagnostic testing (ABG, PFTs, capnography).
• Assist with CPR, bronchial lavage, airway care and sleep apnea assessment.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Administering therapy modalities which include, but are not limited to, Hand held Nebulizer (HHN), HHN via metered dose inhaler (HHN/MDI), Intrapulmonary Percussive Ventilation (IPV), Chest Physical Therapy (CPT), Pentamidine therapy. Medication administration may be included during these therapy modalities. Administering medical gas therapy including oxygen and Helium-Oxygen Therapy (HeO2). Performing ventilation therapies, including maintenance and management of life support systems. These therapies are comprised of non-invasive and invasive ventilation therapies, as well as transport of ventilator patients to diagnostic procedures. Performs physiological monitoring and diagnostic testing including ABG puncture, bronchoscopy assistance, pulmonary function testing, bedside PFT's, metabolic monitoring, apnea monitoring, transcutaneous monitoring, capnography, pulse oximetry and sleep apnea assessment. Performs specialized procedures which include but is not limited to CPR, bronchial lavage, transport, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, artificial and tracheostomy airway care, and body mechanics/ambulation.

Where You'll Work

St. Luke's Health - Patients Medical Center provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services to residents of Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, Baytown, and Clear Lake. The facility includes 53 medical/surgical beds, eight ICU beds and three endoscopy rooms, and offers a range of primary and specialized services—wound care, general surgery, gastroenterology, occupational health, heart and vascular, women’s services, diagnostic imaging, outpatient rehab services, and sleep disorders.

Pay Range

$34.00/ $56.10 hourly
