Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis respiratory team seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner to deliver direct patient care, consult on therapy effectiveness, and support physicians and nurses with respiratory care decisions.

Requirements include graduation from a CoARC-approved program, current RCP license, and NBRC RRT credential. PALS is required in ER; ACLS preferred. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, PTO, tuition support, and retirement matching. Shift: 7am–7pm; sign-on bonus up to $10,000.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• PALS required for ER; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in respiratory therapy per physician orders.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy and acts as resource for staff.

Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, according to physician's orders. Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy. Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care. Performs duties as assigned.

Education

Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.

Licensure

Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.

Certifications

Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.

Other

Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.
