Lehigh Valley Health Network, Inc. is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the Night Shift in Allentown. This part-time role runs 7p–7:30a with a rotating schedule including every third weekend and every other holiday.

You will work in the Respiratory Care department, delivering therapies and ensuring safe, effective patient care. The Respiratory Therapist will administer prescribed therapies, monitor patient progress, collaborate with physicians, and document care in compliance with

• Must hold RRT certification or eligibility and be able to provide respiratory therapy at a high standard.
• Demonstrated ability to operate and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment.
• Strong knowledge of pulmonary care procedures and patient assessment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with physicians and nursing staff.

Responsabilidades

• Administer prescribed respiratory therapies including oxygen, meds, PFTs, ABGs, and ventilation support.
• Perform invasive and non-invasive evaluations to determine care needs and adjust protocols.
• Monitor patients on mechanical ventilation and participate in rounds and weaning protocols.
• Collect specimens and analyze results to guide treatment decisions.
• Document all patient care activities and ensure compliance with care standards.

The Respiratory Therapist assesses patient condition and consults with physicians to determine appropriate treatment plans, and monitors patient progress following procedures to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment. The Respiratory Therapist also documents all patient care activities and ensures they comply with the appropriate quality of care standards and regulations of the department.Job DutiesAdministers physician prescribed respiratory therapy, including oxygen, respiratory medication, PFTs, ABGs, and all mechanical ventilation.Performs evaluation procedures, both invasive and non-invasive, to determine respiratory care needs, and makes appropriate recommendations based upon department protocols ultimately improving patient outcomes and facilitating patient discharge.Monitors patients requiring mechanical ventilation including clinical assessment, routine rounds, troubleshooting, weaning, airway care, and diagnostic testing to ensure the safety and appropriate care of patients.Collects and analyzes sputum, blood and breath specimens for diagnosis. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking.
