This role is to float throughout the system for all RRT needs in the Puget Sound Area. Hospitals included are:
Assists the Registered Nurse or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) in providing a variety of patient cares/treatments as directed within their scope of practice.
Performs direct patient care activities independently in accordance with MHS policies and procedures within the WAC RCP scope of practice. Examples include:

The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for delivering skilled respiratory care modalities and interventions to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies, requiring advanced practitioner skills for complex care situations. This includes independent, professional respiratory care, ventilator management, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and clinical evaluation of care, tailored to patient age and needs. The position operates independently with limited supervision, interacting with patient care staff, management, patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
