Job summary

Citizens Medical Center is seeking a Registered/Registry Eligible Echo/Vascular Tech for day shifts in Victoria, TX. The role requires performing echocardiograms and vascular studies, with supervisory oversight for vascular work if registry eligibility applies.

The candidate should have ARDMS or CCI credentials or registry eligibility, with 1 year of experience and Basic Life Support. This is a full-time opportunity within a renowned community hospital.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Associate Degree patient care related program (unless registries obtained prior to 2005).
• One year experience in training or as a registered echo/vascular tech.

Responsibilities

• Performs echocardiograms (including TEE & intraop. studies) and vascular studies.
• Performs vascular studies under supervision if registry is not the in-room holder.
• Performs stress echos and TCOM’s as applicable.
• Performs EKG’s, stress tests, holter monitoring and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring as applicable.
• Covers call as needed (for Echocardiography; registry eligible technologists may not cover call for vascular studies).
• Maintains documentation and continuing education.

Cardiovascular Technologist and Technician

The Registered/Registry Eligible Echo/Vascular Tech is responsible for performing all cardiac and vascular exams and providing clerical relief as needed.

JOB SPECIFIC:

1. Performs echocardiograms (including TEE & intraop. studies) and vascular studies. (EF)

2. Performs vascular studies. REGISTRY ELIGIBLE TECHNOLOGISTS MAY NOT PERFORM VASCULAR STUDIES INDEPENDENTLY, a Registered Cardiovascular Technologist possessing a RVT or RVS registry must be present in the room overseeing the exam (EF).

3. Performs stress echos and TCOM’s as applicable.

4. Performs EKG’s (EF) , stress tests, holter monitoring and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring as applicable.

5. Covers call as needed (EF), REGISTRY ELIGIBLE TECHNOLOGISTS MAY NOT COVER CALL for Vascular Studies.

6. Assists with clerical and reception duties. (EF)

7. Completes all documentation associated with aforementioned responsibilities. (EF)

8. Maintains continuing education. (EF)

9. Keeps all areas stocked and neat in appearance, participates in cleaning of equipment. (EF)

9. In absence of Registered Cardiovascular Technologist Supervisor, assumes his/her responsibilities. (EF)

Job responsibilities apply to all patient populations including neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric.

• Adheres to organization-wide and other applicable policies and procedures.
• Day-to-day performance complies with the hospital’s Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
• Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital’s Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.
• Performs within professional Scope of Practice at all times.

EXPERIENCE

Required: One year experience, either in training or as a registered echo/vascular tech.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Required: Basic Life Support, ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) Registered in Vascular Technology within 7 months of hire date.

Preferred: ARDMS or CCI Registered in Echocardiography
