Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Tyler, TX is seeking a night shift, full-time Post Surgical Medical Surgical Charge RN to join our Med-Surg team.

Responsibilities include coordinating care for unit patients, supervising clinical staff, collaborating with medical teams, and ensuring care aligns with orders and protocols.

Qualifications

• RN degree from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Texas RN License.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and administers care to a unit-specific patient population through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure each patient receives nursing care appropriate to illness or condition.
• Provides clinical supervision to the clinical, professional, and auxiliary staff to ensure the continuous delivery of quality patient care.
• Works cooperatively with appropriate medical staff to ensure accomplishment of hospital and departmental goals.
• Manages department activities per hospital and departmental policy and ensures care is delivered in accordance with physician orders and treatment protocols.
• Oversees the implementation of a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Degree as a Registered Nurse from an accredited school of professional nursing
• Current Texas RN License
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of employment

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Three years of inpatient/acute care nursing experience
• One year of Charge Nurse experience
