Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio seeks a Radiology Technologist for PRN shifts. You will perform general radiology exams, portable exams and fluoroscopic procedures, ensuring high-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure.

Responsibilities include positioning patients, operating x-ray equipment, archiving and printing images via PACS, maintaining documentation, and mentoring new hires.

Qualifications

  • BLS Certification through AHA or Red Cross.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes.
  • Ability to maintain patient safety and documentation.

  • Produce quality images for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.
  • Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Maintain documentation.
  • Address equipment malfunctions and notify appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with scheduling procedures and determine patient priority.
  • Provide instruction and mentoring to new hires and Radiology students.
  • Potentially rotate through all diagnostic imaging modalities, sites and/or locations.

Radiology Technologists use x‑ray equipment to obtain images of the body interpreted by a Radiologist and are responsible for preparing patients for the exam, moving and instructing the patient into the proper position, correctly operating the equipment and obtaining a high‑quality image while minimizing radiation dose to the patient. Radiology Technologists may specialize in more specific imaging techniques such as bone densitometry, cardiovascular‑interventional radiography, computer tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine. A PRN caregiver in this position works variable days and hours. No weekends will be required.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
  • Perform general radiology exams, portable exams and fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Produce quality images for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.
  • Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Maintain documentation.
  • Address equipment malfunctions, notify management and report malfunctions to the help desk and PACS administrator.
  • Assist with scheduling procedures, monitor and determine priority of patients and process billing.
  • Provide instruction and mentoring to new hires and Radiology students.
  • Potentially rotate through all diagnostic imaging modalities, sites and/or locations.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing
  • Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Knowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $34.00

Maximum hourly: $34.00

A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
