Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Polysomnography Technician to diagnose and treat sleep disorders. You will read orders and perform sleep studies, score polysomnographic results, and assist with patient hookup and equipment calibration.

Join a team dedicated to compassionate, efficient, high-quality, patient-focused care. A High School diploma is required; CPR certification and RPSGT/RRT/REEGT credentials are expected, with preferred AMA-approved respiratory therapy

  • AMA approved Respiratory Therapy or EEG school preferred.
  • RPSGT, RRT or REEGT certification required.
  • CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Under general direction of the Supervisor, performs patient care after receiving general instruction.
  • Responsible for polysomnographic testing and scoring polysomnographic records.
  • Other responsibilities include patient hookup, equipment calibration, responding to patients' needs, troubleshooting equipment; may also include performing clerical duties such as scheduling and pulling patient records.

The Polysomnography Technician specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of patients suffering from sleep disorders. They're sometimes called sleep technicians. What you will do in this role:
  • Under general direction of the Supervisor, performs patient care after receiving general instruction.
  • Responsible for polysomnographic testing and scoring polysomnographic records.
  • Other responsibilities include patient hookup, equipment calibration, responding to patients' needs, troubleshooting equipment; may also include performing clerical duties such as scheduling and pulling patient records.
What qualifications you will need:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy or EEG school preferred.
  • RPSGT, RRT or REEGT required.
  • Certification in CPR required.
  • Prior experience in polysomnographic technology preferred.
