Job summary

Arkansas Children's Hospital in Springdale is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist for the Sleep Lab. The role supports night shifts (Thu-Sat, 7p-7a) in a full-time arrangement (36 hours/week). Requires 2 years of polysomnography experience with appropriate registration/licensure.

A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered along with night and weekend pay differentials. Responsibilities include performing and promoting sleep disorders procedures, documenting findings, and communicating with the Sleep

Qualifications

  • Requirements: 2 years Polysomn Tech experience & registration/license (see job description for options)
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
  • Licensure/certifications include LRCP, RPSGT or RRT as applicable

Responsibilities

  • Provides and promotes safe, advanced patient care addressing age-specific needs.
  • Completes required in-services and training to maintain competency.
  • Collaborates with team and departments to provide care across the continuum.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment meeting standards and regulations.
  • Provides feedback and initiates changes to improve care and work environment.
  • Uses evidence-based practice and leadership to guide patient care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Performs and promotes Sleep Disorders procedures ensuring quality and clarity of recording along with detailed documentation. Communicates pertinent information to Sleep Lab Supervisor and/or physician as needed.

Description
  • Consistently provides and promotes safe and effective advanced patient care that addresses the age-specific variations related to clinical, educational, psychosocial and cultural needs.
  • Completes and assists with appropriate educational activities to maintain and increase competency, including all required hospital and departmental in-services, education, and training as assigned.
  • Facilitates and improves collaboration with other team members and departments in providing patient care across the continuum.
  • Maintains, creates, and promotes a clean and safe environment conducive to meeting customer needs and regulatory standards.
  • Provides feedback, reports, and initiates changes to improve patient care and/or the work environment. Promotes activities to improve quality of care.
  • Identifies and utlilizes available standards, literature and research findings to guide evidence-based practice and provide leadership in patient care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
