We are searching for a Registered Pharmacy Technician -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will assist the pharmacist in the preparation related to the repackaging and compounding, filling, and delivery of medications, and other tasks associated with dispensing in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-adult). This role also assists in the procurement, record keeping, storage, and distribution of all controlled substances.

Responsibilities:

  1. Process prescriptions/medication orders and prepare medication.
  2. Ensure proper distribution/delivery of pharmaceutical and supply shipments.
  3. Deliver doses within established departmental time-frame standards.
  4. Complete and document daily and monthly activity checklists, including checking for expired drugs, cleaning, and ordering supplies and forms.
  5. Check all communication channels, including email and mailbox, every shift.
  6. Complete daily filing, including medication and stop orders.
  7. Work with Materials and Logistics to maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies.
  8. Assist in implementing new formulations for manufactured and repackaged products, updating the Master Formulation Book, distributing or pulling stock, and maintaining the M&R computer program.
  9. Perform weekly inspections of pharmacy areas to ensure adequate supply of drug accountability logs and study drugs, in preparation for scheduled patient visits.

As part of our commitment to safety, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  1. RPHT-TX - Registered Pharmacy Technician from the State Board of Pharmacy required, OR
  2. PHAR INT - Pharmacy Intern
  3. CPHT certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board preferred
  4. At least 2 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred
