Job description

We are searching for a Registered Pharmacy Technician — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will assist the pharmacist with:

1. Preparation related to repackaging and compounding, filling, and delivery of medications.
2. Other tasks associated with dispensing, appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-adult).
3. Procurement, record keeping, storage, and distribution of all controlled substances.

Responsibilities:

• Process prescriptions/medication orders and prepare medications.
• Ensure proper distribution and delivery of pharmaceutical and supply shipments.
• Deliver doses within established departmental time-frame standards.
• Complete and document daily and monthly activity checklists, including expired drug checking, cleaning, and ordering supplies.
• Check all communication channels, including email and mailbox, every shift.
• Complete daily filing, including medication and stop orders.
• Collaborate with Materials and Logistics to maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies.
• Assist in implementing new formulations and updating relevant documentation and systems.
• Perform weekly inspections of pharmacy areas for drug accountability and study drugs, preparing for scheduled patient visits.

All successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing to ensure a safe workplace.

Qualifications:

• RPHT-TX - Registered Pharmacy Technician from the State Board of Pharmacy required, OR
• PHAR INT - Pharmacy Intern.
• CPHT certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board preferred.
• 2 years pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• 40 hours of training in sterile compounding, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, preferred.
