Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in delivering high-quality patient care. The role includes labeling, dispensing, compounding medications, and maintaining accurate inventories while following safety and regulatory guidelines.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or equivalent, Florida pharamcy tech registration, and a CPhT certification (PTCB/NHA preferred).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; completion of post-secondary education preferred.
• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Florida Board of Pharmacy.
• Current accredited Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT); PTCB (preferred) or NHA.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English; strong math and calculator skills.
• Experience with office software and keyboarding; attention to detail in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to the patient.
• Gather, label, and distribute medications accurately and efficiently.
• Package, prepare, and safely compound medications including hazardous substances.
• Handle and distribute controlled substances in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Assist with training new pharmacy staff and maintain medication inventories.
• Communicate effectively using established systems and processes.

Responsibilities

Assists the pharmacist in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to the patient. Gathers, labels and distributes medications accurately and efficiently. Packages, prepares and safely compounds medications including hazardous substances accurately and efficiently. Handles, manages and distributes controlled substances in compliance with regulatory requirements and department policies; and assists with drug diversion surveillance. Assists with training new pharmacy staff. Assists with maintaining accurate medication inventories and billing of medications. Effectively communicates utilizing established systems and processes. Performs responsibilities and duties of the job in a manner that is attentive to age and ability considerations.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent. At least 6 months applicable experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

Other Qualifications: Effectively reads, writes, speaks and understands English. Proven history of effectively performing technical tasks and following written / verbal instructions. Able to apply math and calculator skills along with a working knowledge of the metric system. Possess strong telephone and verbal communication skills. Experience with the use of office software computer applications and keyboarding. Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment and pay attention to detail. Proven organizational and problem solving skills. Proven ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment. Completion of post-secondary education preferred. No history of drug abuse or misuse; or proof of successful completion of a certified drug abuse rehabilitation program is required.

License/Registration

Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Florida Board of Pharmacy. Current accredited Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT); PTCB (preferred) or NHA.

$20.98 - $29.19 / hour; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
