We are seeking a full-time and PRN Occupational Therapist to join our team.

Position Summary

The OT provides direct occupational therapy rehab care to patients based on physician referral, adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Education, Experience, And Licensure Requirements

  • NBCOT certification upon hire; renewal is optional
  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT)
  • Currently registered/licensed in the applicable state; active license in good standing required
  • Preferred: 1 year experience in post-acute care or related setting
  • CPR certification upon hire or during orientation; must remain current

Specific Job Requirements

  • Participate in community health projects as appropriate
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
  • Coordinate with patients, families, and support departments to plan care
  • Demonstrate good body mechanics
  • Make independent decisions when necessary
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and procedures governing post-acute care
  • Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, policies, and procedures
  • Perform competently in all areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and vendors
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Follow company policies, including harassment and compliance protocols
  • Adhere to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and complete mandatory training

Essential Functions

  • Follow occupational treatment plans for activities of daily living
  • Establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable, and timely goals
  • Oversee and evaluate care provided by OTAs, rehab aides, and students
  • Chart appropriately and promptly
  • Use therapy software accurately
  • Provide excellent customer service with a positive attitude
  • Assist in patient evacuation when necessary
  • Maintain dependable attendance
  • Use reasoning skills and good judgment
  • Communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during work hours
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English
